It boasts all the land-based activities that you would expect to find at a PGL centre, along with thrilling water sports at the nearby Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy. Beyond the exhilarating adventures, Osmington Bay also serves as our flagship centre for Field Studies, allowing our guests to deepen their understanding of the natural world.

Osmington Bay is the home of PGL FIELD STUDIES! Our team of skilled Field Studies Instructors immerse our guests in wonders of the historic Jurassic Coast. Through fossil discoveries, freshwater invertebrate studies and exploration of the area’s natural marvels, our team bring this historic landscape to life. A fantastic opportunity for graduates in Geology, Geography or Ecology to share their passion with the next generation.

Osmington Bay is also a great choice to further a career in SAILING, introducing our guests to the thrills of sailing the stunning Dorset coastline.

Why we love Osmington Bay...

If you’re a fan of all things coastal, then you’ll fall in love with our private beach, beach trails and stunning scenery. We are also only half an hour away from one of the UK’s best windsurfing locations with easy access to the National Sailing Academy. But if you prefer to keep your feet on solid ground, then you can stroll along the coastal path and get some great seaside grub in Weymouth!

As a large centre, Osmington Bay enjoys a buzzing social scene and busy programme of events and entertainment, such as live music, quiz nights, climbing and sports clubs. There’s never a dull moment!

Colleague facilities include: On-site bar and shop, laundry facilities, sports hall, colleague lounges and chillout zones, free wi-fi.

Matt, General Manager

I joined PGL during my summer break from Uni….and never left! Osmington is an incredible centre based in an incredible location with the best view around…..but the best thing about Osmington has to be the amazing team. I feel lucky to work with such a talented, kind and welcoming group of people. We all take great pride in the experiences we give to the young people who come and visit us.

I love being at Osmington, it is madness, but great fun! It's like living and working with your best friends. I love spending time on the Dorset coast, visiting Durdle Door and taking the younger groups to the rockpools to search for crabs and other interesting things!

Gee, Front of House Manager

I started my PGL journey back in 2013 as an Assistant Chef at Windmill Hill. I have since had the best opportunity to progress to my current role. My role as Front of House Manager is to oversee the dining room and ensure all guests and staff are welcomed and well fed. Osmington Bay is a great place to work, the centre overlooks an amazing sea view on the Jurassic Coast. PGL is big part of my career, I hope you would join me and have the same career opportunity and journey.

I started my PGL career back in 2015 as an AIGL. My role as a PCO is to ensure you have the best employee experience as possible with us! From ensuring you receive the best support from your line manager and management team, to having lots of FUN whilst working and creating FUN colleague events for everyone to enjoy! I love being an AIGL/ EFL Teacher as every day is different – sometimes I am doing Activity Instructor duties…teaching kids about zip wires and archery, and other days I am teaching our international guests English in the classroom. It’s brilliant as I get to visit new centres and meet a range of people from all over the world.

As the Facilities Assistant Manager, my team and I ensure Osmington Bay is safe, legal, compliant, clean and THE BEST! I started my PGL career at just 18 years old and have now worked in different departments learning new skills and gaining qualifications in areas I had never even thought about. PGL is an excellent industry for you to develop and experience exciting opportunities in all roles.
