Since 1957, we’ve enriched the lives of millions of young people by delivering inspirational learning through outdoor adventure. We are searching for an incredible Business Development Sales Executive to join our friendly and dedicated team in ROSS-ON-WYE. 

THE ROLE

This role is responsible for maximising and growing sales and profitability in our low and shoulder periods (weekends and school holidays) for our B2B business (this is mainly via agents and directly with corporate group-travel organisations). Bookings are usually bespoke, sole-occupancy weekends for up to 1000 guests per booking.

The role is responsible for delivering circ £800k worth of B2B business each financial year.

You will achieve this by one-on-one key account management (delivering high levels of client care and satisfaction), building solid relationships to retain and rebook year-on-year business (inbound).

Alongside having solid account management experience, you will be responsible for growing new B2B business through outbound new business development and also supporting the growth of our other non-education groups business (predominantly from new youth partnership relationships), with the support of the Consumer Senior Partnerships Manager

This role is the first line and key contact with PGL’s existing business to business customers, which focuses on bespoke sole-occupancy Sports and Faith Group travel (in the main). This role is solely responsible for delivering the B2B budget.

IS THIS YOU?

  • Must have solid sales and account management experience with a proven track record of achieving sales targets, ideally from a B2B environment.
  • Must be confident to maintain and grow business through both inbound and outbound sales techniques.
  • Would be useful to have experience or a passion for sports (and/or faith) travel.
  • Able to work closely with key stakeholders across: Customer service + programming teams (to build the bespoke weekends and ensure smooth delivery throughout the customer journey); commercial sales team (to help set price and allocations), operations and centre teams (to ensure successful and planned delivery) and consumer marketing and partnerships (to help and support with lead-generation and growth initiatives).
